New Models: Audi announces new engine
28 Apr 08 13:56
Audi has announced a new 3.0-litre TFSI turbocharged, direct-injection petrol engine.
The six-cylinder engine will feature in the next-generation S4, developing around 350bhp, and lower-powered versions will be fitted in more mainstream models, including the A6, giving 290bhp and 310lb ft of torque. It replaces the current S4's V8, offering similar performance but better fuel economy and reduced emissions.
The six-cylinder S4 is expected to make its debut later this year. The new A6 will also be launched towards the end of the year, probably at the Paris Motor Show. The 3.0 TFSI engine will, of course, also be used in a number of other Volkswagen Group models
